Credit Analyst – 2012-3


A Credit Underwriter is responsible for working with Commercial Credit Officers to underwrite and document new credit requests and renewals as well as work with the servicing of existing relationships.

Job Duties and Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepares financial statement spreads and initiates repayment analyses using designated software products and templates after receipt of a financial package and initial loan request.
  • Works in a team setting with the Commercial Loan Underwriters and Commercial Banking Advisers to determine workflow priority.
  • Participates in and contributes to discussions on terms, structure and viability of various loan requests with the underwriting team.
  • Performs periodic servicing on the material and problem relationships that are assigned.
  • Manages various reports involving loan portfolio segments, concentrations or areas of interest.
  • Participates in workgroups or teams involved in evaluation of lending software or systems. 


Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics
  • 2 or more years of commercial lending and/or commercial loan and repayment analysis experience preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of business and personal financial statements and tax returns
  • Demonstrated understanding of commercial and commercial real estate loan products, loan terms, and repayment plans would be a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
