Job Title: Learning Specialist

PURPOSE OF JOB
The primary role of the Learning Specialist is to provide training to new hires as well as existing team members through a blended learning model including classroom learning, live webinars, on-demand training, and on-the-job training. Handles administrative activities such as assisting the Learning and Development Architect with onboarding activities, orientation schedules, and tracking registrations for third-party learning and compliance with continuing professional education requirements.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES
- Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and performs demonstrations of various bank systems
- Coordinates New Hire Orientation Schedules with Hiring Manager and Director of Learning and Development
- Conducts various New Employee Orientation sessions
- Conducts training sessions, including delivery of group classes, delivery of one-on-one sessions and online training
- Serves as Orientation Buddy delivering a “Wow Experience” to new team members
- Utilizes technology to develop online and on-demand learning options
- Serves as liaison to the Bank’s SMEs
- Assists in designing and incorporating training materials to facilitate the developmental objectives of the bank, such as manuals, procedures, presentations, videos, and online training
- Administrator for the Bank’s online learning system(s)
- Assists with tracking and follow up of training to measure learning goals and identify coaching needs
- Administrator of the Learning and Development page on Bank’s intranet ensuring the learning news, training content, learning opportunities, and class offerings are up to date
- Registers team members for third-party learning such as conferences, forums, banking schools and webinars
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations
- Promotes the Bank’s products and services whenever possible; participates in bank sponsored events, networking and volunteer opportunities at every opportunity

- Follows all regulatory rules and regulations, immediately reports any suspicious behavior and/or situations that may result in criminal or emergency incidents, and completes all required training in a timely manner
- Performs other tasks and projects as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree in business administration, human resources or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Minimum three years of Retail Banking or Bank Operations experience preferred
- Two or more years of experience in a training role preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services, operating policies, procedures, and banking regulations
- Demonstrates excellent communication writing, speaking and listening skills
- Excellent presentation skills as well as the ability to motivate, teach and inspire team members
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the bank
- Discretion in handling sensitive information regarding employee learning skills and aptitude
- Work requires the ability to multi-task and to be flexible
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Travel between bank and branch locations will be necessary, sometimes overnight or extended days
