POSITION SUMMARY

As the BSA Regulatory Officer, you ensure organizational compliance with Regulatory requirements and applicable policies and procedures governing business practices specifically in regards to the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and Ethics. As a representative of the bank, you are required to present a positive and professional image at all times.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three years of experience in a banking environment or similar role/industry required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Function as the primary contact for BSA and Ethics for Bank of Tennessee
  • Oversee Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance on a daily basis consistently
  • Oversee the proper completion of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) for filing
  • Review various reports for inappropriate/suspicious activity and investigate as needed
  • Investigate suspicious activity and complete Suspicious Activity Report as appropriate
  • Oversee compliance of the Monetary Instrument Log and wire transfer logs
  • Be a training resource for the Bank Secrecy Act and Ethics for Bank of Tennessee
  • Assure compliance with the Customer Identification Program
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures as appropriate
  • Interact with FDIC and State Examiners as appropriate
  • Prepare all BSA-related Risk Assessments and update policies as appropriate
  • Prepare Management reports for evaluation as needed
  • Present to the Board Committee as appropriate
  • Oversee the BSA department, providing guidance and development as needed
  • Provide support and counsel to the Senior Regulatory Officer, Executive Management and bank personnel on emerging issues
  • Maintain compliance with all OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) requirements
  • Serve as the designated OFAC Officer
  • Conduct performance evaluations for BSA department staff
  • Assist the Senior Regulatory Officer in maintaining a comprehensive Compliance Management System
  • Travel to conferences and all branches, which may require some overnight stays
  • Approve timecards and benefit time for direct reports ensuring proper coverage
  • Conduct regularly scheduled bi-weekly one-on-ones with team
  • Ensure job descriptions are current and reflect actual duties of position, to ensure skills, abilities and experience is appropriate for current/and or securing new employees
  • Select appropriate team members whose differing strengths can be maximized to create a highly productive team
  • Complete cross-training and development training with team members
  • Provide effective employee onboarding, and ongoing training and development opportunities that reflect both the employee’s and the bank’s needs
  • Develop clear guidelines, goals and timelines while working alongside your team toward a common purpose
  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback, to team members on a real-time and continual basis and via two-way communication
  • Listen to feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Empower team members to improve their confidence, job knowledge and communication skills, and identify, discuss and relay employees’ interest in promotional and career development opportunities
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to BSA and OFAC requirements
  • Actively support the ongoing development of a culturally diverse workforce
  • Complete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficial

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

You will regularly sit stationary at a workstation, constantly operating a computer or other office machinery in order to complete your job functions. You will frequently communicate with other employees through various channels such as talking, listening, and typing. You will travel to conferences and branches occasionally which may require overnight stays.
