MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

  • Two years of leadership/management experience
  • Five to ten years of consumer and small business staff underwriting experience
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Direct customer contact and development experience

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work with internal customers across our footprint
  • Intimate knowledge of compliance, including HMDA and Fair Lending
  • A thirst for customer service
  • Willingness to be held accountable for execution per Service Level Agreements
  • Community bank and branch experience

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures the satisfactory and prompt delivery of all loan underwriting decisions
  • Underwrites consumer and small business loan applications according to the Basic Loan Policy
  • Conducts loan application credit investigations
  • Communicates alternative financing options
  • Identifies and communicates other pre-approved products and services to loan originators
  • May conduct loan training for FSRs and other branch/bank personnel, if asked
  • Participates in new consumer, small business, and mortgage loan product development and implementation
  • Performs all additional duties and activities as directed by the Senior Credit Officer
  • Ensures effective HMDA, Fair Credit, CRA, and Reg B compliance, and work closely with the Bank’s Compliance Officer regarding these matters
  • Recommends advanced automated systems to facilitate underwriting of consumer and small business loans
  • The Centralized Underwriting unit will underwrite 450 to 600 consumer and small business applications per month
  • Maintain and improve favorable past due and charge-off experience of Centralized Underwriting
