Loni Porta of Convergent Retirement Plan Solutions, LLC, will cover the basic and advanced aspects as an IRA custodian.

Day 1, Basic:
The first day of the seminar will include beginning knowledge of IRA terminology, proper IRA set-up and plan opening, qualifications and contribution limits for all IRA plan types, rollovers and transfers, and basic distribution information.

Day 2, Advanced:
The second day is the intermediate-level seminar, and will explain the most up-to-date changes, including health savings accounts and nonspouse beneficiary rollovers from qualified plans. You will also learn what to include in your IRA customer files. Konarik will go over extensively complicated distribution issues, such as the “9 RED FLAGS” of death payments to a beneficiary, to make sure your IRS reporting is on the right track. This program is a repeat of the spring Jackson and Nashville seminars.

Note for all IRA training: Each single day of IRA training can be attended independently of the other, but for the most comprehensive learning experience, attending both sessions back to back is recommended. Each attendee will receive the 250-page IRA Training and Reference manual–also known as the “RED BOOK!”

The virtual session is one day only. There is no day-of registration for the virtual sessions.

Who Should Attend

Everyone even remotely involved in IRAs at your financial institution including: new account representatives, certificate of deposit personnel, savings counselors, account holder service representatives, investment and trust personnel who need this update and are involved in the opening, selling, marketing, or administration of IRAs. Any officer/manager who oversees the IRA department and may be responsible for answering IRA account holders questions or concerns but does not actually open IRA accounts. Experienced IRA personnel who like a slower pace workshop to cover all the new changes in a comprehensive manner.
