Risk Management Forums

LocationSession DatesPrice
TBA Gilliam Board Room, NashvilleSession 1: March 7$1,200 for all three sessions
Session 2: July 18
Session 3: November 28

This forum enables those with risk management responsibilities to participate in a group setting to identify and discuss timely topics that apply to the many components of an effective risk management process within their banks as well as the structure and process by which the oversight of risk is addressed by boards of directors. The ultimate goal of the forum setting is to enable experienced risk managers to collaborate and share best practices with all members, and for those new or less experienced risk managers to form networking relationships with each other and more experienced members.

Possible Topics Discussed:
The Forum’s primary purpose is for members to engage in an informal, open, roundtable discussion of enterprise risk management (ERM) topics. These include creating a risk infrastructure incorporating the management of risk and the board’s role in the oversight of risk, risk committee structure, risk appetite statements and emerging risk topics. Recurring topics of discussion include ongoing review of all regulatory risk categories, and current risk issues and trends affecting banks of all asset sizes.

How the Forums Work

  • The forums will meet three times
  • Several topics are discussed at each session, and participants are strongly encouraged to suggest topics of interest at each session
  • Forum participants get the benefit of working with seasoned facilitators on a cost-saving basis
  • Resources and documents based on forum topics are part of each session’s discussions

Who Should Attend
Any individual within their bank with the responsibility to guide their banks’ risk management function. This can include chief risk officers, other risk compliance managers or those involved in identifying emerging risks that transcend the silos within their organizations.
