Job Title: Credit Analyst

SUMMARY
Analyzes credit data to estimate degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to businesses or individuals by performing the following duties.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes credit information and conducts credit investigations related to lending to establish the financial condition of potential borrowers.
  • Knowledgeable and current on RESPA and TRID laws and disclosures as well as UCC’s, Deeds of Trust, Good Faith Estimates, HUD statements and Truth in Lending documents.
  • Evaluates results of investigations, prepares reports of findings for loan officers.
  • Performs credit inquiries for the bank as requested.
  • Maintains and reviews customer financial spreadsheets.
  • Analyzes loan data on new, renewal and existing loans, including data provided by credit bureaus, other financial institutions and bank files.
  • Prepares spread sheets, reports, summaries, and opinions for bank lenders on new, renewal and existing loans.
  • Manages financial information files to generate current reports, statements, accounts receivable and other information on customer accounts.
  • Works with lenders to help structure and maintain credit relationships while maintaining bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Consults with Credit Officer to assist in analysis planning.
  • Reviews existing loan files for the bank on a regular basis.
  • Promotes and cross-sells other bank products and services as appropriate to customer needs.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to include banking regulation knowledge; ability to protect the confidentiality of all financial date relating to financial institution and its customers. Must maintain bank policies and guidelines.

 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years’ experience as a credit analyst/loan administration; preferably Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting, with 3+ years’ experience as a credit analyst.

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS
This position requires strong written skills with the ability to write reports, bank correspondence, and procedure manuals. Requires strong oral communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Requires a high level of attention to detail with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently, multi-task and manage priorities and workflow within a constantly changing environment.

 

 

MATHEMATICAL/REASONING SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures. Ability to apply concepts of basic financial reports. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

 

COMPUTER/OFFICE SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software. Ability to operate and copier, printer, scanner, telephone system, calculator, and fax machine.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
