We are seeking a Trust Officer to work from our Nashville office (but may consider working from another office for the right candidate). This person will work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team to serve a dynamic client base and administer personal trusts. The individual will work under the direction of a Senior Trust Officer and be committed to adhering to fiduciary principals and relevant compliance standards, while providing superior client service.

 

 

Primary Tasks & Duties

  • Serves as the primary contact for trust clients and is responsible for delivering superior client service and building strong, long-term trust relationships with individuals, families, and their advisors.
  • Administers trust accounts in accordance with the terms of the various governing documents, applicable law, and consistent with the needs of the beneficiaries.
  • Approaches questions or issues with a problem-solving mindset. Responds with information in a timely manner to beneficiary requests.
  • Manages special assets held in trust accounts, including closely held business interests and real estate.
  • Utilizes the trust accounting and administration systems to process requests through workflows, initiate funds transfers, create reports for internal and external use, perform account reviews and ensure all other compliance requirements are being met.
  • Coordinates directly with external and internal partners, including Trust Advisors, Financial Advisors, CPAs, etc.
  • Maintains well organized and complete account files.
  • Supports the tax preparation process by gathering tax reporting, entering tracking information into system, coordinating with outside CPA firms and processing tax payments.
  • Works under Senior Trust Officer to develop new business and cultivate new Centers of Influence.
  • Oversees new client onboarding by facilitating execution of new account paperwork, overseeing file and asset transfers, coordinating with outside investment firms, performing reconciliations, ensuring special asset records are updated and welcoming new clients.

 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree required/graduate or professional degree preferred
  • 3+ years of related trust, wealth management or legal experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy (ESPECIALLY important)
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong focus on client service, compassion, and kindness
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and problem-solve
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or a trust accounting program a plus
