JOB TITLE: Loan Documentation Specialist

The Loan Documentation Coordinator supports Pathway Lending’s goals, values, and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, quality service, commitment, and accountability.

 

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working under the policy direction of Pathway Lending and under the general supervision of the Loan Closing Manager this position provides support in administrative areas. This person assists in the loan process from approval to closing and ensures that the data, documentation and all compliance items are correct throughout the closing process, and all post-closing items are complete and accurate.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Communicates with clients, Lenders and Credit Team; Assists with collection and validation of all client information related to the terms of the approved loan request during closing due diligence.
  2. Interacts with external third-party vendors to include, but not limited to, appraisers, attorneys, insurance providers to obtain certain documentation as needed.
  3. Provides additional support to ensure all documents are properly drafted, executed, recorded, and filed with necessary parties to perfect Pathway Lending’s rights and collateral position.
  4. Participates in client closings to familiarize and educate clients on all aspects of the closing process, documentation and Pathway Lending products and services.
  5. Accurately creates and ensures completeness of data in all platforms such as Salesforce, TEA and Sageworks, with strong attention to detail.
  6. Review and organize documents both electronically and physically, from pre-closing to post-closing for completeness and adherence to Pathway Lending’s retention policy.
  7. Assists with loan payments and disbursements, tracks, and assists in collecting any post-closing items.
  8. Documents and processes loan modifications and renewals.
  9. Assists with loan processing and closings for external partners as required by applicable Pathway Lending commitments.
  10. Acquires and maintains a solid foundation and understanding of all areas of commercial loan documentation as required by Pathway Lending.
  11. Actively participates in analyzing and interpreting the Credit Approval documents and supplemental vendor information to determine borrower, collateral, and guarantor requirements, and ensure production of appropriate documentation in compliance with the terms of the loan request.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Ability to provide excellent customer service with clients, partners, stakeholders and team members Strong Microsoft Office skills including Adobe, and ability to navigate multiple computer systems, applications, and utilize search tools. Knowledge of small business and commercial loan documentation, strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy, excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all levels of the organization, ability to meet or exceed business goals and objectives, while fostering a team atmosphere. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Three+ years of experience in job related activities is preferred. Must have experience resolving and working through complex customer issues and the ability to perform in a fast paced, high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities.

 

 

OTHER SKILLS:
Ability to communicate in English, remain in a stationary position 75% of workday, move, identify; ability to travel if required; and ability to adapt to a changing work environment. Aligns with Pathway Lending’s mission of providing clients and stakeholders with the highest level of service to facilitate their success and the economic growth of our CDFI market

Position is in an office setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions.
